Gimmal

Gimmal is an information governance software company founded in Houston, Texas in 2002. It sells records management, data discovery, migration and physical records software used by legal, records and compliance teams. Since May 2025 it has traded as Gimmal, A Morae Company, following its acquisition by Morae Global Corporation.

Gimmal spent its first fifteen years building information governance products around Microsoft platforms, then took a growth investment from Rubicon Technology Partners in January 2017 and used it to acquire RecordLion in 2017 and both ECM Wise and Infolinx in 2020. Morae Global Corporation, a legal services group backed by Lateral Investment Management, bought the company in May 2025 in what Morae described as its sixth acquisition since that investment.
